Oiselle is a women’s athletic apparel company whose primary goal is to make clothing for women who take running and athletic endeavors very seriously.
Whether it’s a beginner training for a 5k or the professional athlete competing at the Olympic level, they want you to feel comfortable and confident in their clothing. This message and image can get lost amongst the many clothing brands that personify this lifestyle through inferior designs and material. When Oiselle approached me with their concept, “Not Athleisure,” I was excited to show the beauty of athletic pursuit in a way that is not often portrayed, especially in advertising. All of these photos were shot documentary style with little to no input on how the runners stand, where they look or what they should “do”. This approach allowed space for pure emotion and real-time reactions to present themselves as the athletes pushed past limits of comfort and familiarity.
