ABOUT
Born in Santiago, Chile to Peace Corps parents, Amos Morgan learned the value of discovering unfamiliar places and meeting new people at an early age. Growing up in a family of avid photographers (multiple family members had their own darkroom, including his father) the process of shooting film and printing photographs was an almost everyday occurrence. Eventually, the family settled on a small island outside Seattle where the appreciation of nature and a tight-knit community became the final ingredients for a career in visual media and photography. With home-base in Seattle, Amos has traveled all over the world capturing unfamiliar places and taking portraits of new subjects. Inspired by a fascination for how we as people choose to spend our time, his upbringing and personality lend the attention and excitement needed for capturing the unique story in all of us.
I wrote that for a magazine who asked me for brief bio to be featured in their contributors section and it continues to resonate with me. It doesn’t mention however, that getting to collaborate with other people on projects is my favorite part of this industry. Or that I’ve been playing music almost as long as I’ve been taking photos and that I still continue to record and play music live. And recently I’ve found my way back to that small island outside Seattle where I’m working in my studio on my next project or hopefully playing with my wife and son outside in the forest or at the beach.
My sincere appreciation and gratitude for your time visiting my site. Hope we get a chance to meet in person someday soon!
